There are a lot of benefits to aluminum fence, even without powder coating. Unlike wood, it doesn’t warp, chip, or crack. Unlike iron, it doesn’t rust and deteriorate (especially in moist areas). It’s durable, light weight, and absolutely reliable. All in all, aluminum is the best choice for residential or commercial fencing. You see it everywhere, schoolyards, homes, gardens, etc.
But, despite all of its incredible charm, aluminum fence can still be improved upon with the process of powder coating. Powder coating is applied in its dry form and then bound to the metal electrostatically (rather than painted on traditionally with liquid paint) and is then heated to allow a layer or “skin” to form on the fence. This layer is usually made of thermoplastic. Why such a fuss over what could otherwise be a simple paintjob? Simple. Powder coating creates a hard finish, which is very resistant to damage and scratching, that is much stronger than other types of paint.
Powder coated aluminum fence is in a class all its own. As beautiful as aluminum can be, even painted with liquid paint, it does not match the elegance and appeal of a powder coated finish. You can get your finish in a variety of colors, depending on the aluminum fence distributor you are using, and I highly recommend doing so. And remember, as much as the beautiful look of a powder coated aluminum fence is nice, the additional lifespan and lack of maintenance is what truly ends up being a thing of beauty.
