2009 Edible Flowers Food Fest : SouthPark
If you have never tried and experienced 'fragrant cooking / eating' you just don't know what you are missing out on.
Now if are within cooee distance of Edible Flower Food Fest at SouthPark tomorrow then you should get on over there and see what it is all about.

Of course for those of you who already enjoy this type of culinary delight don't need any convincing - here are the details:
When: 7:15 p.m. Thursday
Admission: $18. Reservations required.
Where: Buffalo Inn, Buffalo Drive, South Park.

Of course we are most interested in the recipe for Rose Petal Ice-Cream.
A stampede of flower power awaits dinner guests tomorrow at the Buffalo Inn in South Park.
Nasturtiums, lilacs and roses will flavor appetizers to desserts at the 2009 Edible Flowers Food Fest, which is in its ninth year.
Allegheny County Parks horticulturist Denise Schreiber -- also a certified food handler -- annually organizes the feast and prepares the foods with help from area master gardeners. She serve as many as 200 people of all ages at the yearly buffet.
This year, menu choices will include Lemon Verbena Salmon, Artichoke Chicken Salad with Jasmine Rice, Naughty Nasturtium Pasta, Lavender Shortbread, Lilac Jelly and Serviceberry-Raspberry Soup.
All guests will receive recipes, preparation tips and lists of edible and inedible flowers.
